Markus Bauer received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 2017 and his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2020, both at the University of Applied Sciences Leipzig.
He works as a researcher in the field of artificial intelligence at the Institute for Applied Informatics (InfAI) of the University of Leipzig. Before joining the InfAI, Bauer was working as a data scientist for Webfleet Solutions (DE) where he was developing AI microservices for fleet management applications. Recently his work includes cooperations with local industry, as well as with the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology.
His research interests are focused on data analysis and machine learning, with applications in industrial manufacturing and medical research.
At VISUM 2020, Markus Bauer will talk about “Machine Learning on Kubernetes”.
The Hands-on session will demonstrate how to leverage the power of Kubernetes to create a modern workflow for building a machine learning application. Key aspects will be creating, selecting and tuning a machine learning model, as well as advanced tasks such as moving an experiment to an automated pipeline and deploying a simple AI service. The session will make use of the Kubeflow framework and show Kubernetes’s great potential to integrate all these steps in an easy, scalable and automated manner.
